Anonymous Proxy Lists - A Dangerous Proxy

The concept of anonymous proxy lists are great - especially if you are concerned about protecting your privacy on the internet. An anonymous proxy will basically act as an intermediary on the internet and forward all your requests for web sites whilst not revealing your IP address or physical location. Normally your IP address will be stored on the server logs of any web server you access but when you use an anonymous proxy server then it has no record of your location or IP address.

anonymous proxiesOk so this sounds good - that is what anonymous proxy servers are for - to protect your privacy. The big problem and it is a very big problem is that all your data is actually passed through this proxy server usually completely unencrypted - the data is merely forwarded to it's destination.

Recently a colleague of mine mentioned to me he was using an anonymous proxy in order to access and play online roulette games. Because his ISP was based in the USA all of the online casinos wouldn't let him play due to their online gaming laws. Of course when he used the proxy server his location was actually given as that of the proxy server (Russia in this case) and he was able to play. He also told me this was much more secure as his internet activities could not be traced back to his IP address and location.

I'm afraid although there is some truth in this, it is far from a good idea. To use an anonymous proxy you must have 100% confidence in the integrity of the server and of the people controlling this server. You are passing all your data mostly unencrypted through this proxy in order for it to forward to the web page you requested. All your information and personal details can be accessed via the administrators of this proxy server - a simple capture like tcpdump will log every piece of data that passes through.

Guess where my friend got his Anonymous Proxy Server List from!

You may have guessed already, it was a list posted on a Russian hacker site. He was trusting all his personal information to a proxy server supplied to him by a bunch of Russian hackers. On a scale of bad ideas it really did rate pretty highly but people do it all the time. They feel secure by the mere name, anonymous proxy server sounds good doesn't it until you see Igor sifting through your data one late night looking for passwords and account numbers.

So if you want to use an Anonymous Proxy Server to protect your identity

  • Make sure it is run by a responsible company or organisation

  • Always check the ownership of the anonymous proxy - use a WHOIS lookup to see where IP is registered

  • Even be careful about the above - often a server is compromised and used as an anonymous proxy without the owners knowledge

  • Never use a proxy from a list found floating about the internet

  • Encrypt any data - so it is not readable

I can understand anyones desire to protect their privacy online, there are so many people trying to snoop on our online lives all the way from Governments to hackers, identity thieves and spammers. They all want to know your data for different reasons but it still seems like spying in my book.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable with the European Data Directive which states that all our online data (web sites we access, emails records, mobile phone logs) should be stored for up to 2 years by our ISPs. The UK Government want to go even further and store all this data in a central database presumably so they can find some way to lose the data. There are suggestions and litigation happening now that suggest the same thing may be happening in the USA as well - visit the Electronic Frontier Foundation - for details on the cases.

How to Create a Drop Down Box in a Microsoft Excel Cell

Have you ever been in a situation where you were building a template in Microsoft Excel 2003 and it would have been really useful to actually have a drop down box so that your users could choose from a preset list, rather than them simply typing in their own values? Well the cool part is that Microsoft Excel 2003 allows you to build your own drop down boxes in the application and in this article we will show you exactly how to do this.

The first step in the process of us create a drop down box is to first create a new workbook. So, open Microsoft Excel 2003 and create your new workbook. On the first work sheet add the following headings –

Cell A1 – Title
Cell B1 – First Name
Cell C1 – Last Name
Now click on the second worksheet in your workbook. The name of the worksheet should be called Sheet2. In cell A1 type the word Title and then in the following cells –

Cell A2 – Mr
Cell A3 – Miss
Cell A4 – Mrs
Cell A5 – Ms

What we now need to do is to select the cell range A2 to A5. We are then going to give this range of cell addresses a name. To do this simply select the Insert menu and then choose the Name option from the drop down menu and choose Define. The Define dialog box will open and in the Names in Workbook text box simply type in the name Title and press the OK button. What you have now done is to simply create a named range which you can work with.

Now, return to the first worksheet. We now have to go to cell A2 and define the drop down box. Click on cell A2 and then choose the Data menu. From the drop down menu choose Validation. This will open the Data Validation dialog box.

In the Allow drop down list, choose the List option. The next step is to define the name Title as the range. You can achieve this by typing in the following in the Source text box –

= Title

To complete the process, simply press the OK button.

Return to the cell A2 and you will now see a drop down box. If you click on the arrow you will see the results from your second sheet.

One of the problems you will notice is that the values in the drop down box are not in alphabetic order. To get them into the appropriate order simply go to Sheet 2 of your workbook and choose the range A1 to A5. Select the Data menu and then in the Sort dialog box make sure you click once on the option button – Header Row. Now press the OK button.

If you return to Sheet1 you will now find that the Title drop down box is in alphabetical order.

Drop down lists can be used for virtually an Microsoft Excel template. Remember one thing though, if you do not want your range for your list to be on the same worksheet, then you must name the range.

Computer hacking should not always be considered as negative

A hacker is a computer follower who enjoys programming
, solving problems related to it, trying to increase computer capabilities, learning all the details of a particular piece of software, and so on. Sometimes the term hacker is also related to a person who gains unauthorized access to computer systems with some malicious intent. A hacker who is engaged in constructive practice considers this an offensive misuse of the term.

The practice of altering computer hardware and software to achieve certain goal is known as computer hacking and the people who engages in these activities are called hackers. Since the word "hack" is
used in negative sense, some hackers claim that this term is disrespectful and fails to provide
appropriate recognition to their skills.
The term computer hacking is most common among teenagers and young adults. It is considered to be an "art" form by many hackers who are true
technology buffs and enjoy learning more about how computers work. They love programming and have expert level skill in one particular program. For these individuals, computer hacking is a chance to show their strength, and not always an opportunity to harm others.
Since most of the hackers are self-taught prodigies, some of the corporations actually hire these
computer hackers as part of their technical support staff. These individual are basically employed by the firms to use their skills to find faults in the company's security system so that they can be repaired quickly. This type of computer hacking helps prevent identity theft and other serious computer related crimes
This term should not always be treated in negative sense. Sometimes, it can also lead to constructive technological developments. Many of the skills developed from hacking apply to more mainstream pursuits. There have been many hackers who have contributed in the constructive technological development, for example, former hackers Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson went on to build the UNIX operating system in the 1970s. Later, this had a great impact on the development of Linux.
There are also some hackers who have less noble motives, they use their skills to steal personal information, alter a corporation's financial data, break security codes to have unauthorized network access. This type of computer hacking can sent you to a federal prison for up to 20 years.
If you are interested in protecting your computer against malicious hackers, then it is recommended to invest in a good firewall. Also, check your software programs for updates on the regular basis.

The Best Software Tools for the Paperless Office

A scanner and an OCR software are the key components of a “paperless office”.

The scanner helps you bring existing paper documents like letters, invoices, books and faxes into the computer while the OCR software converts these scanned images into editable and searchable formats like PDF or Microsoft Word.

The program that came bundled with your scanner is probably good for controlling the quality of your scans but that’s just half the job done because image scans aren’t searchable and are therefore impossible to manage in the long term.

To complete the cycle, here are some of the best software tools and online services that will assist you in making a successful move towards a “paperless office”:

Abbyy FineReader – Abbyy FineReader 9 is an extremely powerful OCR software packed in an easy and very intuitive interface. It the only software you need in your quest for a paperless office though it doesn’t come cheap.

As you open a scanned image inside Abby FineReader, it automatically analyzes different areas of the image that contain text, tables or pictures. The software can even recognize different languages and fonts used in the document.

wallstreet

In my test run, the software successfully managed to extract text from an old manuscript with excellent accuracy. I then tried Abbyy FineReader 9 with a photograph of the Wall Street Journal newspaper (credit) that was captured with a digital camera and the results were equally impressive.

Abbyy 9 also features a Screenshot Reader utility that can directly extract text from any area of your desktop screen be it a wallpaper, a Flash presentation or a photo on Flickr.

The built-in spell checker suggests spellings and will help you quickly fix words that could be recognized by the Abbyy FineReader. The scanned documents can then be exported as searchable PDF files, Word documents or even HTML web pages.

Adobe Acrobat 9 – Adobe Acrobat (not the free Adobe Reader) can directly scan paper documents to searchable PDF documents.

adobe-pdf-scanner

In the test run, Acrobat could accurately scan a newspaper clipping with fairly high level of noise though it did not manage to preserve the layout while exporting the scanned image to a Word document.

Acrobat is again a commercial software but it does come bundled with some scanners.

SimpleOCR – Unlike Abbyy FineReader or Adobe Acrobat, Simple OCR software is a fairly basic solution but it is completely free and may appeal to budget conscious consumers.

Simple OCR lets you proof-read the scanned image as text so you can fix inaccuracies before exporting the scanned image as plain text.

scan-paper Scribd iPaper – If you have piles of paper documents in your office, you can easily get rid of them by sending everything in a snail mail to Scribd – this service will convert all your paper clutter into digital documents for free.

Scribd will also run your documents through their own OCR software so everything remains searchable as well.

Evernote – This is not an OCR software but it can easily recognized text in image. So if you have scanned a bunch of electricity bill receipts as images, you may use Evernote to locate them on the hard drive. The software is free and available for Mac and Windows.

Qipit, Snapter and ScanR are pretty similar solutions – they help use a digital camera or a mobile phone as a scanner. You capture a newspaper clipping, a page from a magazine or the conference room whiteboard room with your camera phone and turn to these services for extracting text out of the images.

How to manage your scanned documents ?

google-desktop-logoOnce you have converted your scanned images into scanned documents, you can bulk upload them to Google Docs (that comes with Google Apps) via email.

Alternatively, you can put everything on an hard drive and index them using Google Desktop search or via Windows Vista’s built-in search indexer.

File Compression Software Review

Why Use File Compression Software?

Twenty years ago, it was unimaginable that people would have 500GB hard drive computers and much less imaginable that they would fill them up and still need more computer storage space. Yet, the growing popularity of digital media files and the concept of a paperless society has made hard drive space easier to exhaust and more valuable than ever.

Files compression programs are handy software applications designed to make your digital world of files and folders just a little easier to organize and manage. File compression programs like WinZip and WinRAR take large files and folders, which have a tendency to take up a lot of hard disk space, and condense them into smaller, easier to manage archives. Archives can even be transferred to CDs, DVDs or flash drives for easy back-up of your family vacation photos or important work documents.

All file compression software supports compression for common file types and extensions including Word DOC(X), Excel XLS(X); photo JPEG, GIF, TIF, BMP; music MP3, WMA, text TXT; executables EXE, PDF, rich text RTF, PowerPoint PPT and more.

One of the greatest benefits of using a good file compression program like WinZip is emailing large qualities of information and data in one neat little ZIP package. And since a WinZip ZIP extraction program is already installed on most Microsoft computers, your friends, family and colleagues don’t have to download any additional software to extract your zipped files.

In this site, you’ll find articles related to file compression software, as well as comprehensive reviews and a side-by-side comparison to help you make an informed decision on which file compression program is right for you. At TopTenREVIEWS We Do the Research So You Don’t Have To.™

What to Look for in File Compression Software

Both the concept of file compression and using file compression software may seem daunting and complicated, but there are very few aspects of this type of software that is truly difficult. And usually the average user will never need to know or use the real powerhouse capabilities of file archiving. Good file compression software uses an intuitive interface combined with powerful features to make the process as painless as possible.

The best file compression software needs to make the user feel comfortable and at ease with their product, and at the same time achieve the best compression ratio possible to conserve hard drive space. All file compression software should include the ability to archive and extract ZIP files, it should include encrypted password protection, furnish and maintain comment functionality and test the integrity of an archive. The best file compression programs also include drag and drop functionality and Wizards for inexperienced users.

The following is the criteria TopTenREVIEWS used to evaluate file compression software:

Features
File compression software should include a number of basic and advanced features accommodating users with all levels of compression experience. Most compression software works in conjunction with Windows Explorer allowing for archiving and extraction using simple right-click. Other features should include the creation of self-extracting archives, multiple volume support and compression ratio display. Some file compression software also includes the ability to convert archives to other archive formats and batch convert or extract.

Compression
The reason for using file compression software is to save space; therefore, a file’s compression ratio is very important. Each product’s compression capabilities were tested by compression using a number of common file types to ZIP, they were then compared them side by side. Click here to see the results of our file compression test.

Compression Formats
All file compression should be able to compress files into a ZIP archive, the most common and widely used archive. Most compression software supports compression for other popular, open-source archive types like 7z and TAR. However, proprietary formats like RAR, ALZip and ACE are not usually supported for compression.

Extraction Formats
It’s quite possible to argue that an archiver is only as impressive as its list of supported extraction formats. The best file compression software should have the ability to extract all popular archives and files, like ZIP, RAR, ISO, TAR, as well as a number of smaller, lesser-known formats. Simply, the more formats it supports, the more compatible the file compression program is.

Ease of Use
Just the sound of jargon like compression, extraction, ZIP and archive are enough to give inexperienced and even some experienced computer users hives. The best file compression software should be extremely easy to use incorporating drag and drop functionality and Wizards.

Help and Support
All file compression software should include a comprehensive, searchable, built-in user guide explaining the various features and functions of the program. Additional support should include online help, active forums and some way to contact technical support.

For the most popular, easy to use, comprehensive and overall best file compression software on the market see, WinZip.

Video Converter Software Review

Why Use Video Converter Software

There is no escaping the digital video age and understanding everything that is happening in the computer world just isn’t an option for most. We’ve all encountered that one time when someone emails you a video attachment that you can’t watch. Or perhaps it's the embarrassment of finding your business/school presentation video won't play on the presentation computer. With a video converter you never again have to download six media players to support a specific file format. Frequently used for watching home videos, online videos and movies on your computer or portable media device, Video Converter Software are simple, handy applications designed to make your life easier.

Here is how a video converter program can help your everyday life:

Home Video: There are almost 100 million iPod users worldwide, many of them using PCs. Video Converter Software breaks the boundaries between Microsoft and Apple allowing you to transfer your edited home videos to your iPod with ease.

Online Video: YouTube is gaining popularity every day. Many video converters enable you to download and convert the Flash video on YouTube to file formats you can transfer to your iPod or other portable device and share with friends. This is great for other video files you’ve downloaded off the Internet like RealMedia videos.

What to Look for in Video Converter Software

When selecting a video converter decide first and foremost what files you have and what they need to convert to. If putting video on an iPod is the main goal, look for a program that will output to MP4. If a friend insists on sending videos created on Mac, which uses formats Windows Media doesn’t like, look for something that can convert MOV to WMV.

Video converter software should convert common formats like WMV, AVI, MP4 and MOV to similarly common formats. The best video converter is defaulted to the most common settings, but powerful enough to customize. The interface should be intuitive and non-threating to the novice user.

This is the criteria TopTenREVIEWS to evaluate video converter software:

Input Files
Comprehensive video converter software should accept a wide variety of input files allowing for maximum compatibility. The number and breadth of input files typically determines the strength of the converter’s overall performance.

Output Files
Most only need to output to a handful of formats. Good video converter software will provide a broad selection of outputs accounting for a wide range of users.

Features
The features included with good video converter software includes the ability to adjust multiple advanced options including video size, codecs, bitrates and framerates. Most features are reserved for advanced users, but they should be readily available and easy to find.

Ease of Use
The software should be simple and intuitive. Tool bars, buttons and menus should be clearly labeled and self explanatory. The best video converter software will include a large selection of previously installed codecs, or a place to download necessary ones for free.

Help and Support
Almost all video converter software programs are easy-to-use and do not require much help; nonetheless, manufactures should include a comprehensive in-program guide for minor technical difficulties, a FAQ online and an email contact.

How to block and remove spyware

Conspiracy theorists are partly right: someone is watching you. With software that collects personal information, changes the configuration of your computer, or takes over your computer without your knowledge. It's called malware - or spyware - and the first step to protecting yourself is detecting malware so you can remove it from your system. Keeping malware off your computer is the second step.

Malware is a large category of unwanted, never-asked-for software that includes adware (software that displays advertisements) and spyware (software that actually spies on your computer activities) or ouright malware (software that can take over and control your computer). It is dangerous, and it hides just like a good spy would, tracking your personal or sensitive information - without ever warning you, or asking for permission.

Before you can remove malware or prevent more of it worming its way into your computer, you'll need a good spyware detection and removal program. By far, these Spyware Blockers are your best bets!

Anti-Spyware software is also available combined with AntiVirus software or a part of more complete Security Suite.

To start using a anti-spyware/anti-malware application, you'll need to download and install the software to your computer.

These applications usually start a scan as soon as you install one of them. Once you click "Finish", it will update and begin scanning your computer for malware. Make sure that you allow the update; it only takes a few seconds and gives you the best service. The scan itself will take longer, depending on how large your hard drive(s) is, but you can watch progress if you like using the progress bar on the screen or let it work in the background while you do other things on your computer.

Don't be surprised if you come up with hundreds of entries. This is very common on a computer that is connected to the Internet and has never run a malware scanner before.

Once the scan completes, you're presented with a list of results. Each entry has a description beside it, allowing you to choose whether it's important that it be removed. When you're ready, click "Fix Checked". You'll get a warning the first time that you do this - go ahead and click "Continue".

After you've detected and removed malware from your computer, you need to keep your spyware detection and removal software running so that it can prevent more from hitting your computer.

Anti-spyware application will often run in two modes. One is the tradition scan and removal of spyware on a computer and the second is a "real-time" mode that can protect your computer as you are using it and connected to the Internet. You will want to avoid having two anti-spyware application running in real-time mode at the same time as it is likely to cause your computer to run slowly.

There are also free anti-spyware scans available with the applications listed above that will scan and detect spyware so you know if you have a problem before you spend any money.

One thing you will want to do is AVOID false anti-spyware products that pop-up after you visit a new website or after you have downloaded a file (usually offered as free). These are often malware applications that try to convince you that they have detected phantom issues that they say they will fix if you purchase. Not only do they not fix anything they in fact infect your computer with malware and cause a major headache for you.

Difference between 32 bit and 64 bit OS

During my research about 64 and 32 bit operating system I found many people confused about what computer they should purchase or what "bit" system they should choose...I think this article is a great help for people to choose the correct machine for their use.

So, what is the difference between 32 and 64 bit operating system?

A 32 bit processor is faster than a 64 bit processor, 64 bit processors are very commonly used that you can find it easily in any home pc but the main difference is the hardware you are having on your machine. For 32 bits there isn't any need of any wide main bus to carry 32 bits at a time but for 64 bits its must that you should have a wider bus to carry 64bits.

The main difference between a 32 bit and 64 is that 32 bit system has 4gb(gigabytes) of space for addressing means that the 32 bit system has a limit of 4GB RAM to process data where as the 64 bit operating system has 2^64 bits of space to address and supports 16 hexabytes of RAM to process data.

In simple words an operating system of 32 bit has a 4GB limit to process any data depending upon the sizes of files and RAM

A person who does not care about the category will find 64 bit more beneficial than 32 bit because he can use 64 bit OS with 32 bit OS and software. If we compare 64 bit with 32 bit OS, 64 bit is faster and performs more upgraded silicon processes and have more no of transistors which proves it to be more advantageous than 32 bit.

Now most of the software companies are developing their software in accordance to the 64 bit environment, it's really hard for the consumers to run a 64 bit application in 32 bit environment, in this case they have to upgrade their hardware's such as RAM which is also a big issue because most of the computer users have less than 1Gb in their systems.

So instead of changing your hardware often I would recommend 32 bit OS over 64 bit which is more user friendly and enables its user to run applications of 64 bit in 32 bit environment.

Looking for a File Lock that runs on 32bit? Try Folder Lock.!

The Answer As to Why My Computer Keeps Freezing

This is just a simple article I have written when I found myself asking what happened to my computer. My computer keeps freezing every time I try to load something up. Then, I went to the internet to search for some solutions and found out why this has happened. I found that his has happened to my computer because the registry has been compromised.

The registry is like a database or a library where all the files are stored. Everything that has kept my computer running is inside the registry. That was when I knew that the registry is as vital as the computer's CPU. I found out how to scan through my registry and found lots of disconnected files as well as empty ones. I knew there was something wrong as my computer keeps freezing.

The good thing about the internet is that I have found a useful tip that will probably help my fix my computer. And,as I did a bit of research, there are a lot of products in the market about software called Registry Cleaners. A registry cleaner is a program that will help clean out the registry from invalid and empty files. They scan throughout the registry and get rid of these files. I felt relieved when I saw the results. My computer was back to tip top shape and everything was running smoothly unlike before where everything was such a task. Now my computer loads up my favorite game with such ease.

There is one last thing I want to share. Although there are a lot of registry cleaners out in the market, there are only a few out there that can be trusted. Some advertise themselves with effective results and end up failing their consumers. The best that you could do is to download a trial version and give it a test run to make sure that it works for you.

There is no need to say "my computer keeps freezing?" anymore, just click here for the best solution to computer problems.

Windows 7 Gives More Mobility and Security

The least obvious but an important factor is the Windows 7 customizable power management features. In addition to simply customizable power management plans, the software giants has finally come up with a running form of hibernation. Closing your notebook lid puts it to sleep, whilst re-opening it means near-instant wake up.

While it is not likely to be helped by many existing notebooks, Windows 7 is also sensor-savvy and can deploy GPS, light sensors and 3G modems to bring a couple of added intelligence into mobile computing. Notebook screens can be smartly brightened and dimmed, in consonance to ambient light levels. Location smarts can generally add smarts to Windows 7's integrated search capabilities.

Add to this a mobile control centre for easy access to frequently used mobile settings, simple to use wireless connectivity, and location aware printing which can itself know which default printer to use depending which network a notebook is connected to, and also things are looking decidedly good for mobile users. Microsoft will include a Windows 7 Starter Edition, which is crafted for low-end notebooks and Notebooks, replacing XP without the performance ultimatums associated with migrating to Windows Vista.

Maybe Vista's greatest flaw was its over-zealous User Account Control (also known as UAC, or universal annoyance control). Twitching the wrong way on your PC usually resulted in pop up UAC windows inquiring if you really wanted to go ahead with the task. Having this happen too many times a day quickly became unbearable. UAC is deployed in Windows 7, but Microsoft has sensibly chosen to make it far less complicated.

The new Windows 7 default UAC's setting will only tell you when an application tries change settings on your PC and will otherwise leave you to yourself. UAC settings can also easily be changed thanks to a slider control which ranges from Vista level alerts through to 'never notify.'

Windows 7 also won't Auto-run external storage when it is connected, significantly reducing the scope for virus infections. One will though need to add your own security software to Windows 7, but the software giants has also tweaked the Windows 7 Firewall.

Where firewall settings falling in Vista were at best limited, Window 7's are far more granular, enabling easy access to features such as filtering outbound traffic.

With the final retail version of Windows 7 it's hard not to be impressed. Where Vista was a swollen monolith that seemed hell-bent on making its presence conspicous, Microsoft has got Windows 7 right to a mark where it unobtrusively lets you get on with the task at hand.

Getting Windows 7 or purchasing it is a no-brainer if you're buying a new PC. Upgrading from Vista will also give performance gains. Migrating from XP may need a fresh install but will give you a largely more secure and stable PC.

Microsoft Windows 8 may surface in 2012

Windows 8 will be with us in 2012, according to Microsoft roadmaps apparently revealed at last week's Professional Developers' Conference (PDC).

Although Microsoft has yet to officially discuss plans for Windows 8, a 2012 release would be consistent with previous Microsoft pledges to release a new desktop operating system every three years. Windows 7 was released a month ago.

The latest speculation suggesting a 2012 release has been credited to Microsoft Kitchen, a blog with the tagline 'Serving up some seriously tasty Microsoft'.

Microsoft denies building security 'backdoor' in Windows 7 | Hackers skip Windows 7 activation controls | Microsoft releases Windows 7 download code under GPL v2

Despite showing roadmaps apparently picked up at PDC, the blog has little else to reveal about Windows 8. However, a Microsoft employee may have inadvertently spilled the beans on one key Windows 8 feature last month.

Microsoft employee Robert Morgan appeared to detail the software giant's plans to make a 128-bit version of Windows 8, and even Windows 9, on LinkedIn, where he listed his job as 'senior research and development'. His profile, which has now been removed from the business networking site, said Morgan was "working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects".

It went on to reveal that his R&D projects included: "128-bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan". He's also responsible for "forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP and IBM".

Microsoft is also looking for employees to help shape Windows 8, according to reports online. Neowin.net spotted the vacancy for a Windows 7 software engineer on Microsoft's site.

"We just finished up work on Windows 7, and are pushing forth on Windows 8 planning and preparation," said the blurb in the job ad, which was replicated on the CodenameWindows website.

"As part of this team, you will help shape Windows 8. Components of our code include a core agent that runs as an NT service, an API layer and a UI application," added the advert
